This Dual Purpose Radial Flow filter has a Polypropylene Sediment filter outer layer, a Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) 2nd layer and a 5 micron inner core. Layer 1 - Sediment Outer Layer Filters: Sand, Soil, Silt, Sediment and Rust. Layer 2 - GAC Inner Layer: Further reduces sediment, chlorine taste and odor. Layer 3 - Inner Core: The inner core filters out contaminates down to 5 micron.
